Join the Fight for Reproductive Freedom

CCRF is a membership-based network that brings together a range of reproductive health organizations to create policy change that promotes reproductive and sexual health, rights and justice for Californians and those traveling to California to access care they cannot obtain in their home state.

CCRF members may engage in the coalition in various ways. All member organizations become part of our information-sharing network. Member organizations are encouraged to be active participants in the CCRF network and are expected to honor the confidentiality of CCRF discussions. CCRF members convene several times a year and meet ad-hoc to address emerging and time-sensitive issues. The Coalition is guided by our Membership Agreements which were developed by CCRF leadership in collaboration with our members.

Membership Criteria
Organizations that meet the following criteria are welcome to apply:

Nonprofit organizations, volunteer groups, academic or research institutions, and other non-governmental entities. CCRF does not accept individuals, for-profit entities, or government entities as members
Reproductive freedom must be a core part of the organization/entity's mission or programs. This can include sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice; bodily autonomy issues; LGBTQ+ issue areas; and supporting families to parent children in safe and sustainable communities
Have a strong desire to influence public policy that impacts California on these issues
Be a statewide or local entity in California, or a national organization with a strong
California presence and constituencies who will participate in and support CCRF activities
Fully share and support CCRF’s vision, values, and Membership Agreements.

California Latinas for Reproductive Justice (CLRJ) is a statewide policy and advocacy organization whose mission is to advance California Latinas' reproductive health and rights within a social justice and human rights framework. California Medical Association (CMA) and its component medical societies have represented California’s physicians as the recognized voice of the medical profession. The California Nurse-Midwives Association’s (CNMA) mission is to facilitate the integration of nurse midwives into the health care system of California, promote legislation/regulations supportive of maternal child health and nurse-midwifery practice, and provide a forum for interaction with other groups sharing common maternal-child health goals. http://californianursemidwivesassociation.org

Founded in 1974, Equal Rights Advocates (ERA) is a national, non-profit, civil rights organization dedicated to advancing gender justice as it intersects with economic justice in schools and workplaces nationwide. Since 1974, ERA has led gender equity work through high-impact litigation, free direct legal services, and policy advocacy focused on protecting and advancing the rights of women and advancing economic security for marginalized communities.

The Los Angeles Coalition for Reproductive Justice (LACRJ) is a coalition of over 20 social justice and health organizations collaborating to enhance reproductive health, rights, and justice in Los Angeles. http://lacrj.org//

Maternal and Child Health Access (MCHA) improves the health of low income women and families through advocacy, education, training and direct services. MCHA provides information, support, and technical assistance to health and social service organizations, assists individual women to achieve healthy pregnancies and obtain quality health care for themselves and their children, and educates policymakers and the general public to improve the health and social services systems for all low income women and families and to benefit the entire community in which we live. http://www.mchaccess.org/index.php

The MYA Network is a network of clinicians, activists and patients who want to normalize abortion care, medically and culturally.

Founded in 1970, the National Health Law Program (NHeLP) is a public interest law firm working to advance access to quality health care and protect the legal rights of low-income and underserved people. NHeLP serves legal services programs, community-based organizations, the private bar, providers and individuals who work to preserve a health care safety net for the millions of uninsured or underinsured low-income people. http://www.healthlaw.org

Planned Parenthood's mission is to assure that all individuals have the freedom to make reproductive decisions, and in order for people to make healthy decisions, they should have access to comprehensive information and services related to sexuality, reproduction, methods of contraception, fertility control, and parenthood. http://www.ppactionca.org

Roots of Labor Birth Collective (RLBC) is committed to reproductive justice, and believes that everyone deserves a doula, regardless of one’s ability to pay. We partner with Santa Rita Jail and Bay Area clinics who serve low-income and Black, Indigenous and people of color communities (BIPOC). RLBC birthworkers provide quality doula care to all birthing people with a focus on communities who are most vulnerable to systemic oppression including those who are incarcerated, immigrants (regardless of their documentation status), survivors, low-income, trans*, queer, and/or people with disabilities. https://www.rootsoflaborbc.com/

The San Francisco Unity Coalition is a faith-based organization founded by Black & Jewish clergy which has around 100 social activists of all faiths who are committed to the causes of racial, social and economic justice and dismantling systemic racism in San Francisco, the Bay Area and the state. Our Health and General Welfare Committee focus is to advocate for and partner with organizations to support local, underserved communities' access to culturally appropriate health care, nutritional education and healthy foods, housing security, safe spaces for physical activity, and mental health and substance abuse services.

TEACH trains clinicians in reproductive health, enables them to provide abortion care, and cultivates the next generation of reproductive health champions to ensure everyone has access to comprehensive healthcare. https://www.teachtraining.org/

The Center on Reproductive Rights and Justice at UC Berkeley School of Law (CRRJ) propels law and policy solutions by connecting people and ideas across the academic-advocate divide. ANSIRH is a collaborative research group at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF). Our mission is to ensure that reproductive health care and policy are grounded in evidence through multi-disciplinary research, training and advocacy. http://www.ansirh.org

The UCSF Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health integrates research, training, clinical care, and advocacy to advance reproductive autonomy, equitable and compassionate care, and reproductive and sexual health worldwide. https://bixbycenter.ucsf.edu/

URGE is driven by young leaders. We build infrastructure through campus chapters and Community Activist Networks, where we invite individuals to discover their own power and transform it into action.
